Our sweet angel is almost 7 months old!
Time is flying by so fast.
And, in actuality, I'm glad it is.
I love his baby~ness,
but
I'm so excited for his therapies
to help him!
And unfortunately,
the last few days,
Liam has an average of 20 seizures
daily.
Not good.
For the past month,
he's been taking "Taron crystals"
which are added to his am and pm
feedings
to help with a borderline
low level of bicarbonate
due to the ketogenic diet.
He immediately began
having much looser stool,
and
the seizures were slowly
increasing.
Well, yesterday,
I talked to his dietician,
and she did some research
and said she's had a few
kiddos have increased seizures.
Fantastic.
I stopped the crystals
last Thursday because his
primary neuro
didn't know what they were,
and when I called his neuro that works
with his diet only,
that on-call doctor didn't know
what they were either.
So, I stopped it.
The diarrhea has stopped,
but the seizures have not.
I talked with his primary neuro yesterday,
and we're increasing his medication,
in hopes they will radically decrease.
Based on his great weight gain,
he actually said he's on a low dose,
so it was definitely ok to increase.
Please pray for our sweet boy.
If the seizures do not severely decrease,
we may be doing
an entirely different treatment.
My sweet, handsome little man
was doing so great before those dang crystals.
He's still smiling and laughing though!!
It's such a great site to behold!!
He is so dearly loved.
We need the seizures to just stop,
then he can progress!!
He is still on the feeding tube,
and can not hold his head up.
But, he is so strong,
and a serious
love bug.
He is such a blessing.
I've gotten alot of those "looks,"
the "I'm glad my kids are healthy"
looks,
and the sentences I read,
"I'm so blessed because my kids are healthy,"
Well, you know what?
I'm blessed too.
Liam's battles are not punishment.
They are only tiny obstacles
that will ENABLE him
to move mountains.
I don't need to have children
who are 100% healthy
to know my life is
absolutely incredible,
and to know
my kiddos are perfect.
In every way.
We are blessed.
And I'm so so
THANKFUL
that I
am
their
mother.
